ECOTOURISM POTENTIAL OF THE KARABAKH AND EASTERN ZANGAZUR ECONOMIC REGIONS AND THEIR USAGE WAYS

Annotation. Ecotourism, which is ecologically sus­tainable tourism, along with travelling to natural areas, is an activity focused on education and regional socio-economic development. However, we must not forget that ecotourism is not a part of mass tourism, but is con­si­dered as an alternative tourism. Such an approach, while not the same as sustainable tourism, is nature-ba­sed, environmentally sustainable, and educational, and enhances travel and tourist satisfaction. In this regard, it would be possible to achieve local socio-economic de­velopment by developing ecotourism in the Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur economic regions, which are in a new stage of development, as well as providing jobs to the population returning to the liberated territories, at least partially. In the research work, the ecotourism potential of the Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur eco­no­mic regions was determined, a map was drawn up and directions for the development of various areas of tourism were indicated.
