Annotation: In the article, the solution for improving the water supply of Shamakhi and Gobustan zones by using the water resources of the Shirvan rivers was considered. At present, plants in this zone are mainly grown in greenhouse conditions. Surface and underground water resources are very limited in the area. The main rivers of its territory are Pirsaat and Gozlu rivers. These rivers are mainly fed by rainwater and dry up in summer months. Except for the cities of Shamakhi and Gobustan, the water supply of the villages located in the area is mainly carried out using springs. Due to the decrease of precipitation in recent years, many springs have dried up or their discharges have decreased sharply. There are currently serious problems in the water supply of most settlements. Lack of centralized water supply and poor water supply create serious problems for the creation of small industries and tourism facilities in the region. The soil fund and agro-climatic conditions of the area create ample opportunities for the development of intensive horticulture. However, the lack of water limits the adequate use of these opportunities. In order to achieve faster development of this region, a part of the water resources of Agsuchay, Girdimanchay and Goychay rivers should be diverted to this zone. Our preliminary researches show that it is possible to provide up to 2.0-2.3 cubic meters of water per second continuously in self-flowing hydraulic mode by using the water resources of these rivers.

Keywords: water supply, irrigation water, river, water consumption, perennial water consumption, maximum water consumption, minimum water consumption.
