ABOUT RESEARCH ON THE GEOGRAPHİCAL DİSTRİBUTİON OF ROCKFALLS İN THE TERRİTORY OF NAKHCHIVAN AUTONOMOUS REPUBLIC

Abstract The rockfalls which are one of the wide­spread natural-collapse processes in the territory of Nakh­chıvan Autonomous Republıc and their Geo­graphi­cal distribution, types, factors of formation, main chemical composition, and physical features explored by both traditional and modern remote sensing methods were explored in the article. So, the mass of every single rock piece varies sharply from lowland to highland and from northwest to southeast due to their geomorphological features. The largest rockfalls are widespread in the middle mountains in separate laccoliths and surface dike shelf outcrops. The massive rockfalls parts formed in severe con­tinen­tal climate are conspicuous in the eastern part of the low­lands of the autonomous republic. In addition to con­ven­tional methods, large-scale space imagery covering the area was used during the analysis. Remote shooting has helped to determine where the rockfalls were active in­tensively. The rockfalls were due to the intensity of the formation.
