PROPOSED PROJECTS AND PERSPECTIVES FOR EFFECTIVE USE  WATER RESOURCES OF LANKARAN NATURAL REGION

Annotation. In the article, the current situation of using water resources of the Lankaran natural region was investigated and the proposed project and possible solutions were given for efficient use. The fact that our republic’s water resources are less compared to other countries and the increasing effects of modern climate change have created the need for integrated use of our existing water resources and the need for adaptation measures. The 75% provided average annual flow volume of the Lenkoran rivers is about 633.21 million m³, of which 65% (400 million m³) is formed during the cold period of the year, in the months when there is no need for irrigation water (November-March). The flow of some rivers does not reach the sea, and as a result, marshes and lagoons form in the coastal areas of the Caspian Sea. By regulating the water resources of the rivers located in the area, it is possible to provide irrigation water to an area of up to 60 thousand hec-tares and a population of up to 1.5 million people with permanent drinking water. It was proposed to build water reservoirs in appropriate places and effectively use local flow for the regulation of water resources of rivers, water supply of the population, irrigation, fishing, development of to-urism and other complex purposes.
