DETERMINATION AND ASSESSMENT OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE FOREST COVER OF THE HEKARI RIVER BASIN, THE ECOLOGICAL STATE OF THE RIVER BASIN, AND THE REGIONAL HYDROLOGICAL REGIME

Annotation. The paper uses satellite data to in-vestigate the forest cover of the study region over time, determine the dynamics of changes in the basin using NDVI indices, and estimate the influence of changes in the hydrological regime on the ecological status of forest cover. In addition, images reflecting the increase, decrease, and non-change in the areas of cover types, maps reflecting the dynamic state of forest cover types in different years, histograms based on the area indicators of dynamic maps obtained by comparing images, and data from different years in this area of research were compiled. The vegetative condition index (VCI), which represents the state of water in the plant, was then calculated, as well as its dynamic state. Diagrams were created to depict the dynamics of the river network and the hydrological situation in the Lachin, Gubadli, and Zangilan regions. determining the relationship between environmental indicators found in the forest cover and neighboring areas and the regional hydrological regime.
