THE INFLUENCE OF THE SPECIALLY PROTECTED NATURE AREAS ON THE ECOLOGICAL SITUATION OF THE GABALA REGION

Annotation. Distinguishing by its rich natural resources and charming nature Gabala districts  natural ecological condition is characterize with sharply frag­mented terrain and the intensive processes of erosion, washing, landslides and avalanches, floods, and forest fires. At the same time, interference with natural com­plexes, various economic activities lead to disruption of natural balance – increase in ecological tension. In order to ensure the sustainable development of Gabala region, it is necessary to protect the ecological balance. The role of Specially Protected Natural Areas in ma­in­taining the ecological balance is very important. After the 1990s, the area of the SPNA  in the study area increased 5.7 times. 46.7% of its territory is SPNA. In­creasing attention to the protection of the nature of Gabala region, creation of reserve, reserve, national park and strengthening of protection, activity of Gabala regional forestry center, led to the formation of natural regeneration in forests and summer and winter pas­tu­res. In the article, the latest state of the listed processes was investigated, as a result of both field research and from the collected materials the map of the SPNA of Gabala region, at the same time, the “Land use and surface cover” map based on the data obtained during the decoding of the aerospace images was drawn.
