NATURAL FACTORS AFFECTING THE TOURISM-RECREATION POTENTIAL OF THE SOUTHERN SLOPE OF THE GREATER CAUCASUS (BETWEEN MAZIMCHAY-SHINCHAY RIVERS)

Annotation. The role and importance of rec­re­ation resources in the development of tourism are significant. Therefore, in order to determine the possibilities of using any area for recreational pur­poses, it is necessary to study and evaluate the rec­reation and tourism re­so­urces of the area. The cor­rect placement, utilization and use of these re­so­ur­ces emphasizes the im­portance of a more in-depth and accurate study of the influence of natural con­ditions in specific areas. In the article, the main na­tural factors affecting the tourism-recreational po­tential of the southern slope of the Greater Cau­ca­sus were investigated. Fa­vo­rable natural conditions and development of cli­ma­te, landscape, hydro­gra­phic net­work, attractiveness of natural monuments, favorable ecological en­vironment are attributed to natural rec­re­ation re­sources in the research area. It should be noted that although the studied part of the southern slope of the Greater Caucasus has rich natural monuments that directly affect the potential of tourism-rec­re­ation, so­me­times natural condi­ti­ons can negatively affect the development of to­urism here.
