EMPLOYMENT STRUCTURE OF BAKU CITY POPULATION: DYNAMICS AND DEVELOPMENT TRENDS

Annotation. Socio-economic and demographic processes are among the factors that directly affect the formation of the employment structure of the population. Baku’s position as the capital, socio-economic and demographic development results in a high level of employment in the city and turning the country into the main region of labor migration. During the research period of 2009-2021, the city of Baku was higher than the national average in terms of the employment level, qualitative characteristics of the employment structure, and the rate of growth of the economically active and employed population. In the article, the changes in the employment structure of the population in Baku in modern times were studied, and the socio-economic and demographic factors affecting them were analyzed. Also, information on the number of economically active, employed and unemployed population, and new jobs opened. Existing problems in the employment structure of the population in Baku were studied and suggestions were made for their elimination.
