OIL-GAS EXTRACTION AREAS OF THE CASPIAN SEA, IN THE AQUATORIUM OF THE AZERBAIJAN, THEIR ECOLOGICAL PROBLEMS AND INFLUENCE TO THE MARINE ECOSYSTEM

Abstract. The information about the geographical position of the exploited fields, their dimensions, productivity of the structural layers, as well as the development of the oil and gas industry in the international economic relations system, which is becoming one of the decisive directions of the independent Azerbaijan’s state policy and the reaching of oil and the gas industry has a high level of development in the 21st century are also was taken into consideration in this article.
The article outlines the reasons for the sharp deterioration of the quality of water in many water areas of the Caspian Sea and the reasons for their transition from contaminated to polluted class and the necessity of ecologically and safety approach to waste management during the oil and gas exploration process.
In this article also unsatisfied environmental situation in the oil and gas production areas, discharging of wastes from oil-extraction operations to the Caspian Sea (Hovsan and Channel 32), accumulation of oil sludge in production areas, spontaneous discharge of industrial waters into the water area were taken into consideration.
