TRENDS IN THE DEMOGRAPHIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE URBAN AND RURAL POPULATION OF THE MIL-MUGAN ECONOMIC REGION

Annotation. This article explores the demographic development of the urban and rural population of the Mil-Mugan economic region and the problems arising in this field. It examines the growth rates of urban and rural populations, identified trends, and analyzes the factors influencing this process, compared to national data. The research uses census and current statistical data to analyze demographic processes such as natural increase, growth rates of birth and death indicators, and changes in this regard. Demographic indicators for the economic region over different years have been compared with corresponding national indicators, and trends in the dynamics of absolute figures for natural increase have been identified. The absolute indicators of natural population growth were analyzed over five-year periods from 1999 to 2023, and it was determined that the largest growth occurred during the periods of 2009-2013 and 2014-2018. Based on the research findings, the problems identified are outlined, along with scientifically grounded solutions and recommendations.
