OPTIMAL OPTIONS FOR EFFECTIVE USE FROM THE WATER RESOURCES OF KURMUKCHAY AND SHINCHAY

Annotation. The article provides information about the solution for efficient use of the water resources of the Kurmuk and Shin rivers. There is an urgent need to regulate and comprehensively use the green energy potential of these rivers, which is currently unused. At present, the water resources of these rivers are used in retail irrigation. In general, autumn-winter flows of rivers are not used. The current state of water resources use in the basins of these rivers was investigated, and based on hydrological observation data, it was proposed to build engineering facilities and off-channel reservoirs related to efficient use of hydropower potential, irrigation and other complex purposes. The newly created reservoir will be able to provide self-flowing irrigation water to the irrigation area of ​​the “Ayrichay” reservoir, which is currently unable to perform its function due to siltation. It should be noted that the “Ayrichay” water reservoir, which was put into use in 1987 and is intended to irrigate 22,800 hectares of agricultural land, has already silted up. According to preliminary calculations, it is possible to create an off-stream water reservoir with a total volume of 90.0 mln. m³ using a part of the water resources of Kurmukchay and Shinchay (provisional name “Baggal”). It is also possible to build 3 hydropower stations with a total capacity of 25.2 MW on the water pipelines that will feed the new reservoir.
