“Geography and Natural Resources” is an open-access, peer-reviewed scientific journal that publishes the results of fundamental and applied research in the field of geography and related disciplines. The journal covers various branches of geographical science, including physical and economic geography, ecogeography, geographic information systems (GIS), climate change, landscape studies, and natural resource management.
In addition, the journal’s scope includes research related to soil science, agrochemistry, agricultural geography, agroecosystems, efficient use of resources, environmental sustainability, and the socio-economic development of regions. In this regard, the journal is not limited to classical geographical directions but also serves as an academic platform for modern research conducted at the intersection of geography and agricultural sciences.
The journal’s primary audience includes higher education institutions, research institutes, governmental and international organizations, institutions engaged in environmental and natural resource management, as well as scientists, researchers, and doctoral students.
Aim and Scope
The main objective of the journal is to ensure the dissemination of the results of contemporary scientific research conducted in the fields of geography and related agricultural sciences to the broader academic community, to promote theoretical and methodological discussions in these fields, and to contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge.
The journal accepts scientific articles in areas such as physical and economic geography, ecogeography, geographic information systems (GIS), climate change, landscape studies, environmental assessment, natural resource management, soil science, agrochemistry, agricultural geography, agricultural development, environmental sustainability, and other related fields.
At the same time, the journal prioritizes research devoted to socio-economic development at regional and global levels, the interaction of natural and anthropogenic processes, efficient use of resources, geographical characteristics of agricultural systems, and management issues. The journal is not limited to the listed areas and also supports new and innovative research conducted at the intersection of geography and agricultural sciences.
The journal accepts and publishes manuscripts in both Azerbaijani and English. Submissions in English contribute to the international visibility of the journal.

Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo a double-blind peer review process. During this process, the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential, and the evaluation is carried out solely based on scientific content, relevance, methodological rigor, and originality.
After an initial technical and scientific screening by the editorial office, manuscripts are sent to independent reviewers in the relevant field. Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the manuscript may be accepted, returned to the author for revision, or rejected.

Submission Period
In accordance with the journal’s publication schedule, manuscript submissions are accepted during the following periods:
- For the June issue: January 1 – May 1
- For the December issue: July 1 – November 1
Authors are required to submit their manuscripts within the specified timeframes in accordance with the journal’s submission guidelines. Manuscripts submitted outside these periods may be considered for the next issue.
Publication Ethics
The journal strictly adheres to publication ethics and operates in accordance with international academic ethical standards. Authors, reviewers, and members of the editorial board are required to follow the principles of academic integrity, objectivity, transparency, and responsibility.

Plagiarism Policy
The journal applies a zero-tolerance policy towards plagiarism. All submitted manuscripts are evaluated using appropriate tools to detect plagiarism.
