DISTRIBUTION OF THE POPULATION IN HIGH-ALTITUDE ZONES IN THE SHEKI-ZAGATALA ECONOMIC REGION: TENDENCIES AND IMPROVEMENT

Abstract. The article deals with the analysis of characteristics of the distribution of population in the Sheki-Zagatala economic region of Azerbaijan by altitudinal belts. Tendencies of the distribution of population, as well as natural-geographic and socio-economic factors of this process are determined on the basis of censuses of 1999 and 2009 years. Economic and geographic priorities of the regulation of population are defined in accordance with the recent changes, observed on altitudinal belts.
