THE ROLE OF THE PHYSICAL AND GEOGRAPHICAL FACTORS IN CREATION OF MICROTOPONYMS IN THE TERRITORY OF UPLAND SHIRVAN

Abstract. The microtoponyms which are collected from Mo­untainous Shirvan (region of Shamakhy, Ismayilly, Gobustan, Aghsu, Haciqabul) are spoken in this article.  Some microtoponyms of the studied areas – Chil dagh, Batan dagh, Tanga dara, Chanlibel, Maraluchan dosh, Chakhnag, Akhtarma, Pilpila, Bark dara, Kap dagh, Keçal dagh, Dalmalar and etc. are investigated. Natural events that occurred in the past and present through the study of microtoponyms on the physical and geogra­phical conditions, geological processes, changes that oc­cured in the flora and fauna, climate, relief, the resto­ration of the landscapes, allocation of the population, de­velopment direction of agriculture and future prospects are intended. The map scheme of the microtophonyms that are collected from Mountainous Shirvan and surro­unding areas have been compiled.
