Annotation<\/strong>. According to forecasts, the water shor\u00adtage observed in the world will become more and more intense. The water deficit is more clearly felt in the Republic of Azerbaijan, whose territory is mainly located in the transitional climatic zone and is poorly provided with water resources. In recent years, the assessment of changes in water resources under the in\u00adfluence of natural and anthropogenic factors has ac\u00adquired particular relevance. The use of water resources withdrawn from natural sources and consumed was ana\u00adlyzed for two periods (1990-2021 and 2000-2021). During the first period covering 1990-2021, there was a negative trend in the use of water resources taken from natural sources and consumed, and in the second period, covering 2000-2021, a positive trend in the use of water resources was obtained. It was determined that in both periods only 70% of the water taken from natural so\u00adurces is consumed, and 30% goes to waste. 69-70% of consumed water is used for irrigation, 26% for pro\u00adduction, 4-5% for domestic needs.<\/p>\n
