Annotation<\/strong>. This paper reveals some scientific aspects of the geoconservation. It briefly describes how the geoconservation emerged and developed (geological heritage), gives a description of the objects of the geological heritage of the Earth, a set of measures to preserve geological monuments and the subjects (conservation measures, decision-makers and beneficiaries). The main phases of conservation of the Earth’s geological heritage objects, which are the phases of substantiation, conservation and management of the protected rare geological object, are considered. The fundamental principles \u2013 the principles of singularity, following the geological context, scientific approach and information susceptibility based on which the selection, description and inventory of rare geological objects is carried out, are also given. In the final part of the paper, the expedience of separating geoconservation into the branch of geoecology is substantiated \u2013 an interdisciplinary science that uses the methodology of related branches of the Earth sciences.<\/p>\n
