The article deals with cumulonimbus clouds formed as a result of convective processes and associated lightning, heavy rain, etc. The occurrence and development of severe weather conditions are analyzed in detail. Based on archival data in 2005-2020, a statistical analysis of cumulonimbus clouds, lightning and heavy rain by months and years was carried out on the territory of the Heydar Aliyev International Airport. Also, given the importance of studying cumulonimbus clouds and associated atmospheric phenomena, various factors influencing the occurrence and development of severe lightning and hail on the Absheron Peninsula on May 10-11, 2021 were analyzed.
