Abstract.<\/strong> Establishment of protected areas is one of the most important activities in the conservation of na\u00adtu\u00ad\u00adral resources, biodiversity and gene pools, including the pro\u00admotion of a healthy lifestyle for people in the world. The concept of conservation of landscape-eco\u00adlo\u00adgi\u00adcal di\u00adver\u00adsity and sustainable development promotes the im\u00adpro\u00adve\u00adment of socio-economic indicators and at the same time en\u00adsures the protection of the environment and eco\u00adsys\u00adtems. The aim of the paper is to examine the re\u00adlationship between landscape-ecological diversity in pro\u00adtected areas in Azerbaijan and the factors that con\u00adtri\u00adbu\u00adte to this relationship through sustainable de\u00adve\u00adlop\u00adment. The article iden\u00adtifies landscape-ecological dif\u00adfe\u00adren\u00adces, including the principles and development of pro\u00adtected areas such as National Parks, Nature Reserves and Habitat\/Species Management Areas in Azerbaijan. For the first time, a landscape-ecological carcass model was developed to ensure environmental balance. A me\u00addi\u00adum-scale digital (1: 600,000) “ecological carcass” map of Azerbaijan has been developed, and its structural ele\u00adments were explored. Cur\u00adrently, only 10.3% of the ter\u00adri\u00adtory of Azerbaijan is composed of pro\u00adtected areas. Gi\u00adven the anthropogenic pressure on land\u00adscapes in Azer\u00adba\u00adijan, it has been established that the struc\u00adture of the ter\u00adritorial organization of protected areas does not comply with existing standards of environmental ba\u00adlan\u00adce. To do this, proposals to increase the area of pro\u00adtec\u00adted sites to 15% of the country’s territory were jus\u00adti\u00adfied.<\/p>\n
